Share A Tracking Link
Users have the ability to quickly share a tracking link to internal users or externally to third parties such as customers, dock workers, and dispatchers. The link displays a view of the specific tracking session, not the Control Tower.
Simply click the 'Share' tab and two options appear:
- Send Link Via Email - Clicking this button will launch the users default email client. (This is your email client configured on your actual computer 💻, nothing configured in MacroPoint). A canned email template with a tracking URL will display. User can customize messaging as deemed appropriate.
- Copy Link To Clipboard - Clicking this button will copy a link for you to paste in your browser, shoot across a Teams or Slack messages to a coworker, or use however you want.
Security 🔐
If a link is sent to a recipient who already has a MacroPoint login, they will be directed to the specific tracking session but then will be allowed to navigate off the load to their permitted view. This means if you send a link to another customer, they can see your single tracking session but nothing else in your account.
If a link is sent to a recipient who does not have a MacroPoint login, they will be direct to the specific tracking session, without having to log in, but will not be able to navigate off the page. Their view is locked down to the single load.
Have a blind shipment? We got you. Ask your MacroPoint rep to disable stop and carrier information on your share links. This will remove all addresses, appointments, carrier, and driver details. Check it out for yourself:
